Greg Cox, Trombone
Born in Seattle, Washington, trombonist Gregory Cox has been a member of the Vancouver Symphony since 1976. He holds the Bachelor of Music with distinction from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Emory Remington.
Upon graduation he accepted a position with the North Carolina Symphony and appointed the trombone instructor at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
Greg has been a guest musician with the Rochester Philharmonic, Rochester Opera and the Winnipeg, Regina and Winston-Salem Symphonies, and the now defunct CBC Chamber Orchestra.
Since his return to the Pacific Northwest, Greg has added teaching positions at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver Academy of Music and Western Washington University. He is active as an adjudicator, clinician and recitalist in BC, Washington and North Carolina. He has recorded extensively for Mark, Polydor, CRI, Orion and CBC labels.
Greg just completed his 35th summer at the Eastern Music Festival under the baton of Gerard Schwarz.
