VAM S.K. Lee College is designed for students focused on a professional career in performance. VAM in collaboration with Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL), provides a program leading to a Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree through TRU-OL, and an Artist Diploma for those individuals who have earned a Bachelor of Music degree.
Both are full-time programs offering private studies with distinguished VAM faculty, as well as accredited academic university courses for the Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree through TRU-OL. Although the programs offered at VAM S.K. Lee College are performance-intensive, the overall curriculum presents a balance of practical and academic studies.
Under the terms of the bilateral agreement between VAM and TRU-OL, students will take their music courses at VAM, specific general education requirements from TRU-OL, and will receive their degree from TRU-OL Students may also transfer credits for courses taken at other accredited institutions.
The music program concentrates on three areas of music training: major instrument, historical and theoretical aspects of music, and ensemble performance.
