The VAM Orchestral Program comprises three orchestras which seek to strike a balance between excellence and enjoyment.

Registered VAM students are offered the Orchestral Program as a supplemental class at no cost based on teacher recommendation. Students not studying at VAM are encouraged to audition for the Orchestral Program (for inquiries, email: musicdirector@vam.bc.ca).

The VAM Junior Symphony (VAMJS), conducted by DeAnne Eisch, rehearse on Thursdays, 5:00-6:30; the VAM Intermediate Symphony (VAMIS), conducted by Joseph Elworthy, rehearse on Thursdays, 5:00-6:30.

Both VAMJS and VAMIS perform four times a year. The VAM Symphony Orchestra (VAMSO), conducted by Maestro Leslie Dala (Music Director of the Vancouver Bach Choir, Assistant Conductor of the Vancouver Opera), rehearse on Fridays, 4:30-6:30, and perform three times a year in the historic Orpheum Theatre.
